Stars Award - Gold

London Fields School is an All STARS (Sustainable Travel, Active Responsible, Safe) accredited school. This means we work closely with Hackney Council and Transport for London to ensure local roads are safe for the children, families and staff; promote walking, scooting and cycling to school and healthy living.  Last year we were able to provide cycle training for Year 5, were involved in Tour de Hackney competition, Biker's breakfast with Dr.Bike, Bike around the Borough and walking incentives to KS2 children. We are hoping to do even more this academic year!  To recognise our work promoting and achieving safer and more active travel we have been awarded the gold STARS award.

Artsmark Gold

In recognition of the fantastic arts curriculum, resources and provision at London Fields, we have been awarded Artsmark Gold!

The Artsmark was established to recognise schools across the country who are acknowledged as being committed to providing the best quality arts and cultural education, particularly across the four main art forms (dance, drama, music and art).

Only 11% of schools across the country hold Artsmark status.  The Artsmark Gold status is even more prestigious, with only 6.5% of schools across the country having achieved this this year.

This means that London Fields are leading the way in providing our pupils with excellent arts and cultural experiences.  You will see many examples of this across our website!  We are delighted that our staff and pupils have been nationally recognised for all their hard work!

Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM)

In recognition of the effective science curriculum, resources and provision at the school, London Fields has been awarded ‘Gold’ twice by the Primary Science Quality Mark; in 2014 and 2017.

In 2021, London Fields was awarded the highest level of Primary Science Quality Mark, 'Outreach'.

The Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) was established to enable primary schools to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their science provision.  London Fields has demonstrated that excellent teaching practice and leadership in science is visible, sustained and evolving across the whole school, and that this excellent practice has had a clear impact on the pupils and partners beyond the school.

Both staff and pupils are extremely proud of this achievement and have immensely enjoyed going through the process of obtaining recognition for our work in science.

What is the School Games Mark?

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels.  See here for more information.

Hackney Primary Spanish Award

London Fields was among one of the first schools in the borough to be awarded the Hackney Primary Spanish Award (Premio Español Primaria). This award and its criteria were developed by a number of language and education specialists, to promote and encourage outstanding Spanish teaching practice across Hackney.

London Fields was assessed against a number of criteria, and after having spoken to pupils and observed Spanish lessons, the panel awarded our school with the Silver Award. This award is a reflection on the hard work our staff and pupils have put into their Spanish teaching and learning, as well as our plans for the future. We hope to continue excelling and improving Spanish at London Fields, and will soon be going for the Gold Award!
