This week the children in Reception found a strange map in the playground. They read the map, followed the clues, and discovered a chest of golden coins and precious stones!
Inspired by the map and the treasure hunt, the children made their own maps. They drew them, thinking about directionality and spatial awareness, labelled the features and special places using their phonetic knowledge, and followed the clues in each other's maps, using directional language and their imagination.
