Ourselves7 October 2019 (by Frankie Martin (FMartin)) |
Over this half term, the children have been learning about themselves and have worked on a couple of great projects around this topic.
Everyone made a self-portrait in a box using a range of materials, learning new skills and techniques, and discussing their choices. The children discovered similarities and differences between themselves and their friends and talked at length about them. The pictures are now hung up in our class rooms, come and take a look!
Then we spoke about where we live. The children created houses and gardens in boxes. They used a range of recycling from home, recognising and talking about the food the boxes and lids came from. They planned their designs, learnt to use tools and manipulate materials. A lot of children chose to work on a collaborative house, making a room or a piece of furniture each to contribute to it.
