The first-ever taste marathon at London Fields.1 July 2024 (by Natalie (nski)) |
For the past 5 months, the Eco team has been thinking about, researching, and planning ways to help the children in school become more eco-friendly in an easy, sustainable, and achievable way. They decided that trying to eat more fruits and vegetables was not only eco-friendly but also good for your health and quite delicious, so the idea for a first-ever whole-school taste session was born. They settled on tomatoes, which are more versatile than other vegetables (or fruits).
Today our top hall was transformed into a farmer's market and every child, from Nursery to Year 6 had the opportunity to taste a variety of yummy tomatoes, all homegrown in the UK. It was a very successful morning and everyone left with a new love for the humble tomato.
A massive thank you to the Eco team who tirelessly served tomatoes to over 400 children and shared their tomato knowledge with the school.
We hope this becomes a yearly event!
