Over Spring Term, Year 5 has been working with Climate Change All Change and in particular the designers Jack, Julie and Lucy to develop ideas  and designs about what our future living spaces could be like. They have looked at how our climate may change and possible solutions we could develop to help mitigate those changes. We have had visiting experts teach us about biophilic design, fermentation and different materials to build with. The designers then took year 5’s designs and made a rendering of a whole new world to show all their designs in action.

On Thursday, the designers hosted a Big Reveal and invited all the children to see their work on display as well as hand out awards to the stand out and most innovative designs. It was wonderful to have Parents, Governors, industry professionals and even our local MP come to see the culmination of everyone’s hard work. 

Whilst we are working hard to do what we can to slow down climate change we all now feel inspired to be agents of change, become designers and re-develop our world to face future climate challenges head on.
