Just over a week ago, the Year Three's finished their learning about the United Kingdom. We saw how it can be organised in many different ways, by regions, counties and even boroughs. We learned why this might be useful for local news and weather channels, as well as when adults go to vote for their local MP.

We also developed our learning about 'Land Use' that we had already started thinking about when we completed a survey earlier in the year about Broadway Market and the kinds of buildings and spaces we found there. We deduced from pictures of land and maps of the UK where it might be sensible to build houses, offices and schools, as well as farmland, and where it would be difficult to do these things. We learned the main differences between rural and urban land.
