Dance, Dance, Dance!

This half term, in PE, Year 3 focused on Dance. We created short dances which focused on different stimuli. The first was about Machines where we used an 8 count phrases of pushing and pulling actions and 8 count phrases of spinning and turning actions.

Our second dance was all about Seasons! We used our knowledge from our Year 1 Science lessons to think about what the four seasons look and feel like. We considered how we could portray this through movement so our audience would understand the idea behind our dance. 

In both dances, we thought about why dancers counts of 8 and how this is similar to when musicians using counts of 4 when performing a composition (remember two 4s is 8!)

We performed in front of a peer audience and we received feedback on areas such as dynamics being used effectively and if an idea has been portrayed well using movement.
