The children in Reception are on their way to becoming fantastic writers!
The children are learning a new sound every day using the Read Write Inc programme. They use a memorable mnemonic to learn and remember the correct letter formation. They practice the starting point and the direction of each letter and are working towards developing a correct and comfortable pencil grip. Reception children have many opportunities to practice their writing skills during the school day: through their phonics lessons, teacher focus activities, and continuous provision.
