This week the children in Reception had a fantastic opportunity to explore what happens when sodium bicarbonate is mixed with vinegar. They listened carefully to the rules, measured and added the sodium bicarbonate to the beakers, added some food coloring then poured in the vinegar. The children watched in amazement as the mixture foamed up, creating an erupting volcano.
