Nursery spent last week learning about the beautiful festival of lights. The children read the story of Rama and Sita, looked at the special clothes, food and objects for Diwali, made their own links to other familiar celebrations, and made their own diya lamps out of glass jars covered in tissue paper and decorated with sequins. They also worked on Rangoli patterns using coloured rice and pasta in a builder's tray outside, and scrunched up tissue paper inside. And for a treat at the end of it all, we celebrated with some tasty Indian sweet meats!
