Dangerous "Sweets" - please be vigilant

8 October 2020 (by abentley)

Should you suspect a child to be in possession and/or ingested these sweets then please contact 999 immediately.

As you may have seen in the media earlier this week, thirteen children at a north London school were taken to hospital when they fell ill after eating what they believed to be "sweets".

The pupils were taken by ambulance to hospital with the main symptoms being nausea, hyperactivity, elevated heart rates and hallucinations.

Police believe that the sweets contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), an active ingredient of cannabis. Investigations are currently under way to establish the quantity in each sweet, but it is believed to be extremely high.

To raise awareness of the incident, Camden’s Safer School Team released the following image of the sweets in question.

In addition, please see attached for some further examples of sweets laced with THC. This is not an exhaustive list and there are many examples.

Should you suspect a child to be in possession and/or ingested these sweets then please contact 999 immediately.
