The London North East Maths Hub is one of 35 hubs across the country led by the NCETM and funded by the DfE. The Maths Hubs programme brings together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network each locally led to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students. At the heart of Maths Hubs’ work is a range of projects and activities that collectively make up the Teaching for Mastery Programme. Each Hub has in place Mastery Specialists who are trained by the NCETM to understand the mastery pedagogy and to then go on to support local schools to help them experience, experiment with, and implement teaching for mastery approaches in maths lessons, and to develop leadership and professional learning approaches that support teachers and pupils in this pursuit. We are pleased that one of our teachers Max Lawson is a Mastery Specialist for the LNE Maths Hub.
