Our aim is to create learners who can reflect, question, wonder, think, connect, be self-aware and be determined. We aim to move towards this by providing opportunities for the children to build knowledge, make meaning and apply understanding. We believe that by doing so we will help children to develop a sense of belonging to and contributing to a better world and ensure that they can think well and feel well.

Reception children enjoy the new Sensory Play Space!
The Reception children have been busy exploring our new sensory playground as part of their afternoon provision. The space offers a mix of sensory experiences, climbing opportunities, and quiet areas for rest and reflection.
The children have loved testing out the different textures, climbing and balancing on the equipment, and using their imagination in play. It's been lovely to see them work together, share ideas, and challenge themselves while having fun.
The quieter corners of the play space also give the children the chance to slow down and enjoy a moment to themselves. This balance between active play and calm, reflective time supports their overall development in Reception, helping them grow in confidence and independence.
We're pleased to see how much the children are enjoying this space, and we look forward to watching their play and learning continue to flourish.

Road Safety Week in Nursery
This week in Nursery we have been learning all about Road Safety.
Through role play, small world activities and practical games, the children explored how to stay safe near roads using the key message:
Stop, Look, Listen and Think!
The children practiced crossing at zebra crossings, waiting for the green light, and helping toy pedestrians and cars move safely around our small world city. This has helped them build awareness of real-life situations and understand the importance of staying safe when walking with adults.
Alongside our Road Safety activities, the children were also busy in Maths learning about weight. Using balance scales, they explored and compared objects to find out which were heavy and which were light. They predicted, tested, and sorted different items, developing mathematical language and early investigation skills in a playful, hands-on way.
It has been a fantastic week full of meaningful learning, problem solving, and real-world understanding.
Well done Nursery!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
This week in Preschool, our book of the week has been Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Through this story, the children have explored important values such as respect for other people’s belongings and learning that we should always ask before touching or using something that isn’t ours.
The story has also helped us practice size language, comparing objects that are small, medium, and big, just like the bears’ bowls, chairs, and beds! The children have enjoyed retelling the story using small-world play.
We also took time this week to reflect on Remembrance Day, learning in an age-appropriate way about remembering people who help keep us safe. The children created their own bright red poppies using paint and printing techniques, which are now proudly displayed in our classroom.

Year 1 start Computing!
Last week, Year 1 began their "Introduction to Computing" topic. We learned about what technology could be and where we might find computers at school and in the world around us. We also learned the different parts of a PC and practised logging on and off the school computers. Most importantly we learned to keep personal information safe and not to share it with others online or offline.

Fantastic Running LF!
What a great afternoon!
Well done to everyone who took part in the Run Kids Run event this afternoon at the Olympic Park. It was amazing to see so many families come together to fundraise for the school by running laps of the marathon community track. Everyone was hugely supportive of each other as they cheered Nursery through to Y6 children as they raced towards the finishing line to be awarded their well-deserved medals. A huge thank you to the parents who organised a wonderful treat for after the race by providing hot chocolate and cakes and a massive thank you to the parents who encouraged so many of us to take part! A fun-packed afternoon!
Reception children had their very first Forest School trip!
The children had their very first Forest School session this week, exploring the site with excitement and curiosity. The swing proved very popular, as did digging and searching for fossils. The mud kitchen was a huge hit and the climbing tree was constantly in use.
We ended the session with hot chocolate, a biscuit and a cheerful song to thank your volunteers.
